Hi, I’m Eli Morris.

I am the founder and CEO of Skana Engineering, and I appreciate you being here.

Skana was founded on the belief that great ideas deserve the opportunity to become something real. I believe personal connection and communication matter. No matter someone's background, experience, or where they come from, everyone deserves the opportunity to be heard, supported, and taken seriously.

This is not a large company with layers of leadership or a big team behind the scenes. It is me—someone who cares deeply about building thoughtful products, creating meaningful relationships, and solving problems in a better way.

Skana was built on the belief that every product should have a purpose. Rather than creating things simply for the sake of creating them—or for the money they could make—the goal is to identify real frustrations, understand why they exist, and design solutions that are simpler, smarter, and built to last.

If you see my logo on a product, I want you to know it was built with intention, craftsmanship, care, and confidence in the outcome.

I believe the best ideas come from listening, collaborating, and understanding the people who will actually use the product. Big ideas often start small. At Skana, I want to help turn those late-night ideas, simple sketches, or temporary solutions into something that not only solves the problem, but can make an impact on others facing the same challenge.

I have been fortunate to have people in my life who believed in me, supported me, and helped me along the way. Skana is my way of paying that forward. I want to help people who have good ideas, strong values, and the drive to create something meaningful, even if they do not yet have all the resources, time, or tools to make it happen on their own.

From a young age, I have loved coming up with new ideas, inventions, and solutions to simple problems. The dream is not only to build great products, but to help other dreamers do the same.

Why “Skana”

The name Skana is inspired by Škaŋ, also known as Taku Škaŋ Škaŋ, a central figure in Lakota tradition representing motion, energy, the sky, and the force that animates all living things.

In Lakota cosmology, Škaŋ is not simply a figure or symbol, but one of the primary aspects of Wakan Tanka—the Great Spirit or Great Mystery. Škaŋ is often described alongside Inyan (Rock), Maka (Earth), and either Wi (Sun) or Han (Darkness) as one of the foundational forces of the universe.

Škaŋ represents movement in every form—from rivers flowing and stars falling to the energy that drives life itself. That meaning felt fitting for a company built around forward movement, progressive and intentional problem solving, and big thinking. At Skana, no idea is too small and no challenge is too big.

To me, Skana represents momentum. It is the belief that with enough intention, effort, and persistence, even the smallest idea can continue to grow, gain momentum, and become something much bigger. We all share this world, and I believe we are at our best when we learn from one another, help one another, and work to leave things better than we found them.

No idea is too small, too early, or too ambitious. If you have a product idea, a problem you want to solve, or simply something you believe could be better, I encourage you to reach out. I would love to hear about it.
