Canopy Climate Systems
FROM PERSONAL PROJECT TO FULL-SCALE BUSINESS
Canopy Climate Systems began with a personal challenge: managing a dart frog enclosure and maintaining the proper environmental conditions required separate lights, misting equipment, fans, sensors, timers, and controllers. The original idea was to bring those functions together in one purpose-built system that could provide a more stable and natural environment for the frogs.
Skana Engineering carried that idea through multiple generations of design, prototyping, testing, and refinement. Each version improved the structure, electronics, lighting, misting, airflow, sensing, interface, and installation process. That development became the Verdant platform, starting with the Verdant 18, an integrated canopy that manages the enclosure through a single structure and onboard controller.
What began as a personal project ultimately became more than a product. Skana developed the manufacturing approach, brand identity, customer experience, website, support structure, funding strategy, and launch plan behind Canopy Climate Systems. The original idea grew into a complete customer-facing business built to bring the Verdant platform to market and support its continued development.
